Theme: Elephants, Yellow and Grey
I have always loved the colour combination of yellow and grey, and despite my eldest daughter (5) telling me these were 'boy's colours', I thought I would put these together using chevron patterns and elephants to create and style my daughter Ashlyn's 1st birthday. I enlisted the talented 'Paper Blossom Creations' to create all the printables, including tent cards for the lolly buffet, backdrop, choc bar wrappers and 'Pin the trunk on the elephant' game. The AMAZING 'I Luv Cake' created the most magnificent cake I have ever seen, using this colour combination perfectly! The candy buffet table was decorated using a beautiful grey ruffled tablecloth I purchased from "Memories are Sweet". I made my own balloon tassel tails and attached them to 2 jumbo balloons that were used at each end of the buffet table. These matched the beautiful tissue paper tassel garland in grey & white from Bickiboo that was used to decorate the drink station. All props are my own ('Tre Tulle'). Macarons from Macaron Mayhem matched in with the colour theme. The games included "Pin the Trunk on the Elephant" and having the children push peanuts across the floor to a finish line, using only their noses! I found a beautiful little stuffed elephant at a local newsagent, that coincidentally was yellow, grey and chevron, and also dressed the birthday girl in a cute outfit that matched in with the party theme and colours.
A beautiful rich chocolate sponge cake with choc oreo buttercream, covered in fondant and including a handmade fondant elephant topper holding a balloon, and a rosette, all made by the talented "I Luv Cake" incorporating the party theme and colours.
The lolly buffet table was a huge hit. The cake was the highlight of the table. I also had 2 kinds of macarons in yellow and grey, and numerous lollies in the party colours too. There was also personalised choc bars and jelly cups.
"Pin the Trunk on the Elephant" was created by the wonderful "Paper Blossom Creations". Also played a game where the children had to push a peanut across a finish line on the floor, using only their noses.
I sourced all the props and decorations and used them to style the party myself. I enlisted the help of "Paper Blossom Creations" to create all the printables. "I Luv Cake" did a wonderful job in creating the perfect cake for my theme. I decorated all the mini milk bottles and jelly cups myself, using washi tape, baker's twine and elephant pendants. I also made the balloon tassel tails for the jumbo balloons at each end of the lolly buffet table and matched them to the tissue paper tassel garland from "Bickiboo" that was used on
